This is a copy of The Numbers Racket CD-ROM, which I prepared back in 1998. I am presenting it here, unedited, for historical purposes. Obviously most if not all of the information is 'out of date' today, but think of it as a snapshot of what the Spy Numbers scene was like in the late 1990s.

Like what you see here? Help support my work by taking a look at my software , and buy something of interest :) It's all available for download before purchase, so you can try it out.

Enjoy!

Parodies of Numbers Stations

Parodies of Numbers Stations

Several parodies of Numbers Stations have appeared over the years, mostly by pirate oeprators.

Mexican Food

This parody was heard Halloween night, on 3456 kHz from 0006-0033 UTC on November 1, 1987.

It consisted of a SS/YL repeating "atencion" (with a poor accent), followed by her reading five word groups of Mexican foods (ie: "tamale, nacho, frijole, tortilla, burrito").

It should be noted that The Association of Clandestine Enthusiasts (ACE) was sponsoring a special contest that Halloween weekend.

Atencion 69

This station starts off with the opening "Attention Sixty-Nine". This is followed by groups of five words. It closes with "Eat Me" twice. I'll leave it to the listener as far as what words are used to transmit the message!
