This is a copy of The Numbers Racket CD-ROM, which I prepared back in 1998. I am presenting it here, unedited, for historical purposes. Obviously most if not all of the information is 'out of date' today, but think of it as a snapshot of what the Spy Numbers scene was like in the late 1990s.

OLX

Presumed to be operated by the Czech Secret Service (Statni Tajna Bezpecnost, State Secret Security), this station was extremely active for many years before going silent August 3rd during the great floods in Central Europe in the summer of 1997. It has also been reported that the Czech Secret Service was planning to close operations anyway.

Transmissions began five minutes before the hour with a morse code ID. The message started at the hour, and both CW and voice (SSB) were used. Transmissions were 23 hrs a day, with no transmission at 2200Z.

The following frequencies were reported:

5301	1700-2100, 2300-0400
8142	0500-1600
9320	1700-2100, 2300-0400
11416	1700-2100, 2300-0400
14977	0500-1600
18303	0500-1600

Perhaps the most amazing thing of all about OLX was the fact that it actually issued a QSL card!
