This is a copy of The Numbers Racket CD-ROM, which I prepared back in 1998. I am presenting it here, unedited, for historical purposes. Obviously most if not all of the information is 'out of date' today, but think of it as a snapshot of what the Spy Numbers scene was like in the late 1990s.

Enjoy!

KKN50 U.S. State Department

Offically, KKN50 is run by the US Department of State Intelligence Service. Interestingly, it is registered with the ITU (International Telecommunications Union) as operated by the CIA.

KKN50 transmits regular marker beacons, which can be heard throughout the day.

Here's a sample marker transmission:

QRA QRA QRA DE KKN50 KKN50 KKN50 QSX 6/10/11 K

Occasionally actual traffic is heard, often in the form of 5 digit groups. (Gee, what a surprise) During the Gulf War, a large amount of traffic was noted from this station, especially just prior to the allied attack.

Frequencies used by KKN50:

 6925.5 kHz
11455.5 kHz
15970.5 kHz
18525.5 kHz
